It's been a while since I posted anything. I am sorry. Lets see...I have started college finally. I recently completed my first class Introduction to Psychology 2 with an A-. After a 20 year hiatus returning to school was very intimidating but I persevered and did much better than I expected. On August 29 I begin English Composition 130 and Introduction to Western religions. Hopefully I will do as well in these new classes as I did in my first psych class. Maybe next semester I will take another Psych class and continue working towards two Bachelors degrees.
My goal is to become a United Methodist Pastor. My pastor at Palmyra UMC is Mike Roberts and he is very supportive but very very busy..he's a great guy life just seems to keep him hopping. Maybe here in the fall I can get into a Layspeakers class and begin delivering sermons as needed when other pastors are on vacation or out of town on business or whatever. I am looking forward to the coming challenges.
My wife and family are doing well. My wife and I both in the past few months have changed jobs. The facility we both were working for was closed down by the state. SilverCrest Childrens Development Centre is no more a bastion for multiply handicapped children for so many years was closed for budgetary reasons by Mitch Daniels governor of Indiana. The prevelant view that troubled or disabled children are best treated in their home communities while good and true for most is not good and true for all. SiverCrest was ap;ace for the children that local community facilities like public school and community youth shelters simply are not equipped or staffed or really capable of truly caring for. I have seen this with my own eyes. We now have children falling through the cracks not receiving the care and structure the attention necessary and medical staffing needed for their proper care and mental and physical development.
I know its a lost cause, the state government is only looking at the cost to the states budget and could care less about the cost to our children and their future.
Sorry Mitch Daniels and Silver Crest are sore spots still I suppose.
